Founded in 1899 by Max Georgen, the company was taken over by master mechanic Eugen Schweitzer in 1938 and renamed Eugen Schweitzer Mess- und Regeltechnik.
After the World War II, Schweitzer moved into new production facilities and developed the resistance thermometers for ultra-low temperature measurements together with Linde. It became the cornerstone of the company’s success, which continues to this day.
In 1972, the son and new company owner Dipl.-Ing. Werner Schweitzer expanded the company considerably and brought it up to the very latest technological and logistical standards. The current production meets the highest current standards in terms of new development and manufacture of electronic resistance thermometers of all kinds, as well as customized individual products, depending on customer requirements.
From the 1980s onwards, the machinery was consistently converted from lathes and milling machines to CNC technology and continuously expanded.
Since 2004, the product portfolio has been expanded to include an in-house development in the field of external temperature measurement on pipes. This product still has a unique selling point on the market today and is primarily used in the pharmaceutical and food industries.
In 2012, business graduate and industrial engineer Florian Schweitzer joined the company and managed the more than 100-year-old family business together with his father.
Since 2021, our quality standards have been certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and are regularly monitored.
International sales have also been expanded.
Our products are used in a wide range of industries, e.g. in beverage bottling plants, in the gas production process, in engine test benches and test vehicles in the automotive industry, in medical technology and in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
